il nome del file \u00e8 WMT_Hydrocyclone_DN300_3D.png\" style=\"width:186px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p id=\"block-93cc7705-3a82-4a3e-8f26-511908f119a3\"><strong>Cyclones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Industrial cyclones are static separators which, based on differences in density, separate the various components present in a two-phase fluid body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-64860270-d467-4443-b63e-19cae9220d7c\"><strong>Hydrocyclones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike dry or powder cyclones, which separate solids or liquids from gases, hydrocyclones separate solids from fluids or fluids of different nature contained in the liquid body to be treated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-70e3c5b8-743a-4f47-9297-591d1df2c4b5\"><strong>Components<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A hydrocyclone includes a cylindrical-shaped feed part with tangential inlet; an overflow outlet with vortex generator; a conical part with a waste or separated discharge tip and possibly a collection part for the latter.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"218\" height=\"515\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wmt.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WMT_Hydrocyclones_diagram_EN.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3295\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.wmt.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WMT_Hydrocyclones_diagram_EN.png 218w, http:\/\/www.wmt.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WMT_Hydrocyclones_diagram_EN-127x300.png 127w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 218px) 100vw, 218px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p id=\"block-e79be682-91e1-47bb-8e69-505af2853d81\"><strong>Working principle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The product is fed tangentially into the hydrocyclone at a pressure and speed given by the feeding system.<br>The introduction of the fluid phase creates a centrifugal movement pushing the heavier component outwards and downwards along the wall of the conical part.<br>The decreasing diameter in the conical part increases the speed and therefore improves the separation between the desired components.<br>Finally, the concentrated part with the highest density is discharged through the discharge tip.<br>The vortex maker in the outlet part generates a rapidly rotating upward spiral movement of the fluid in the center of the conical-shaped housing.<br>The fluid with a lower density is discharged, separated, through the overflow outlet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-4160735b-e7d6-46c5-9db7-8fa2f34e3be5\"><strong>Cyclone parameters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-17a35128-eb25-4ba6-b2cb-d64e8fabfb6d\">The following parameters are decisive for the good functioning of the cyclone:<br>&#8211; the design,<br>&#8211; the difference in specific weight between the two phases of the product to be separated,<br>&#8211; the shape of the product to be separated,<br>&#8211; the forward vecocity of the fluid,<br>&#8211; the density of the components of the two phases,<br>&#8211; the viscosity of the product to be treated,<br>&#8211; the supply pressure and the counterpressures necessary at the overflow outlet and at the discharge tip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-c7c56c87-cb47-4186-a432-7b1721f590e9\"><strong>Application areas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-6f990785-d301-41cd-8a2e-96ad1e9dd7a5\">The main areas of application for hydrocyclones are:<br><strong>Industrial separation processes<\/strong><br>Hydrocyclones are often used in industry for the separation of particles present in a fluid body.<br><strong>Mineral processing industry<\/strong><br>Hydrocyclones are frequently utilized in the metallurgical and mineral processing industry for the classification of fine particles and dewatering of slurries.<br><strong>Sand separation and classification<\/strong><br>Hydrocyclones used for sand separation and classification and as a separator of sand from water or sludge.<br><strong>Oil-water separation<\/strong><br>Separation of oil and water in, among other things, the offshore industry.<br><strong>Dewatering<\/strong><br>Concentration of slurry and dewater sludge for disposal.<br><strong>Microplastic separation<\/strong><br>Removal of microplastics from wastewater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-3a85ff30-4466-456e-8be3-3c57e1642988\"><strong>Main characteristic data of our hydrocyclones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-73d652dd-f6c4-4107-be0a-313fa03b1735\">Flow: from 1.22 to 37,000 gpm.<br>Inlet and outlet diameters: from 1\/8&#8243;
